My work

André was my grandfather. If I chose his name, it's because he carries many secrets that haunt my story. Family secrets, shame, violence, love, all in a explosive and often unhealthy cocktail.

Reminiscence

A reminiscence, in the context of memory, refers to the act of recalling or reflecting on past experiences, events, or moments. It involves bringing to mind memories from the past, often with a sense of nostalgia or sentimentality. Reminiscences can be triggered by various stimuli such as sights, sounds, smells, or even thoughts, and they often play a significant role in shaping one's identity and understanding of the world.

I NEVER CALLED YOU (DADDY)

This project emerged during a workshop with Antoine d'Agata. It is the result of an introspective journey following in the footsteps of my father, who never wanted to be part of my life. It brings up my few memories with him, our conversations in his car, his absence, including when I revisit the places of his stories as an adult.

Alone

Unreal City, Under the brown fog of a winter dawn, A crowd flowed over London Bridge, so many, I had not thought death had undone so many. Sighs, short and infrequent, were exhaled, And each man fixed his eyes before his feet. Flowed up the hill and down King William Street, To where Saint Mary Woolnoth kept the hours With a dead sound on the final stroke of nine. There I saw one I knew, and stopped him, crying 'Stetson! You who were with me in the ships at Mylae! That corpse you planted last year in your garden, Has it begun to sprout? Will it bloom this year? Or has the sudden frost disturbed its bed? Oh keep the Dog far hence, that’s friend to men, Or with his nails he’ll dig it up again!
